David Abbott, Office Manager

While a senior at Trinity College, Deerfield, Illinois David, from Colorado met Kathy, from Minnesota.  After two years, and many trips to Dunkin Donuts, they were married in 1974. They made their home in Denver, Colorado until the spring of 1978. They then made an eighteen month stop in the high plains of Wyoming. While there the Lord gave them their son Peter.

In the fall of 1979 they moved back to Colorado and helped start a Baptist General Conference church. Krista was born in the spring of 1981. In the fall of 1983 God prompted them to move to Minnesota for Seminary. By His grace David finished Bethel Seminary in the spring of 1988.

July of 1989 saw the Abbott’s moving to New Hampshire to take an associate position at Durham Evangelical Church. They spent eleven great years in Durham learning to translate the dialects of northern New England. Just when they learned that Dover is really pronounced Dova, God moved them to Connecticut.

In the spring of 2000 they moved to Hamden. For the next six years Dave served at Christ Community Church in Cheshire as Pastor of Discipleship and Evangelism.

Upon leaving the position in Cheshire David spent eighteen months serving at Sound Beach Community Church on Long Island as Interim Pastor.

By God’s grace the Abbott’s were called in November of 2007 to work with Pastor Lesiw, at Seymour Evangelical Baptist Church, until his retirement in July of 2008, at that time David became the pastor. David worked in Seymour until December 31, 2017. Yes now I will be working in the office for Converge Northeast. Also in my spare time I work at Griffin Hospital as a part-time Chaplain.
